See How Racist Columnist Attacks Obama For Hugging Parents of Freed Prisoner Of War

The case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is still under wraps. The captured sergeant, who was held against his will in Taliban captivity for over five years, is still trying to recover in a German hospital. The soldier, who was rescued via a trade off bartered by President Obama, has been famously under fire for all of the rumors circulating around his mysterious capture. Even so, this has not stopped columnists all over the country from lambasting President Obama and the soldier himself. Richard Cohen, a writer for the Washington Post, seems intent on being one of the first men up with a pitchfork.

President Obama recently met with the parents of Bowe Bergdahl at the White House. President Obama was then seen hugging them at the podium and offering them support. This apparently was just too much for Cohen and the rest of his buddy journalists. Cohen was quick to attack Obama for hugging the parents of a “deserter”. He also called the President “utterly repellent” for having to see him put his arms around the Bergdahl’s. All of this vitriol is coming despite that Bergdahl hasn’t been alleged of doing anything wrong, in an official capacity. Just rumors and anonymous sources out there paint him as a deserter!

This newest attack on President Obama should come as no surprise. Richard Cohen has made the news repeatedly for his racist views during the Trayvon Martin case. Cohen repeatedly said that he feared “young black males” that wear hoodies. The rest of his views were heavily expounded upon and not worthy of repeating. The question is begging to be ask: Does Cohen loathe Obama hugging the mother of a deserter? Or does he hate the image of a powerful black man hugging a white woman?

Loaded questions aren’t fun, Mr. Cohen.
