Police officers are accustomed to having strange objects pointed at them while they are making an arrest. One man took this to a different level when he pointed a piece of fruit at officers.
The man in question was arrested in Colorado after he pointed a banana at the cops. After the man was arrested, the officer had to file the proper documents. On the paperwork, he stated that the man who was arrested was reaching for a gun.
As the man was reaching in his pocket to pull out what officers thought was a gun, the man yelled out that it was only a banana. The item was even yellow in color. This is not a typical color of a gun, and officers should probably know that. The man did start waving the banana in the air as the officer approached him, so the officer wanted to look out for his own safety.
What makes this situation even more bizarre is that the officer got in his car and called for back up because of the situation in progress. The man was charged with a felony because of the laws in Colorado. If someone waves anything at an officer, even a banana, it can be considered a weapon.
