George Zimmerman is now a household name because of his role in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Martin was walking in Zimmerman’s neighborhood late at night when the incident occurred. The media has focused heavily on the fact that Martin was carrying Skittles at the time of the shooting.
According to police, Friday’s road rage incident consisted of Zimmerman pulling along side the victim’s vehicle and yelled, “why are you pointing a finger at me?” he then asked “do you know who I am?” and threatened the other driver by stating “I’ll fucking kill you.” The day after the road rage incident, the victim called 911 reporting “Zimmerman was waiting for him at work and that he feared for his safety.”
This is not the first incident that the national media has reported since the Trayvon Martin shooting. in 2013 around this time, Zimmerman allegedly was at his estranged wife’s parent’s home and punched his father-in-law in the nose as well as threatened the both of them with a knife.
Since the event, his estranged wife Shellie, declined to press charges again Zimmerman. Not long after, he had an alleged incident involving the use of a shotgun and making threats to his girlfriend. It was reported that the girlfriend had changed the story, so the charges were dropped by police.
