Sometimes, people do things that make us question if there is any hope for humanity. A group of racists in the United States have put together a defense fund for Michael Slager, the police officer in North Charleston, South Carolina who murdered Walter Scott. Walter Scott was an unarmed black man who was running away when this cop shot him a minimum of 8 times in the back. As if this was not horrible enough, Slager went on to try to cover up what he had done, planting his taser next to the body and talking about how he was “fearing for his life.”
Thankfully, a witness caught the murder on a video via cell phone. Although the footage is chilling and disturbing, it ensures that the cop will not get away with his crime.
Also disturbing is the fact that the racist people in the country think that Slager did nothing wrong. They have actually put together a Twitter account to show support for him and play a role in his legal defense, and they tried to put together a GoFundMe account. The GoFundMe account was taken down, because the site was against supporting a murderer.
However, these people are not stopping in their pursuit of what they feel is justice. Their tweets are all about the politicians that they feel would take their side, and how they feel the cop should be tried. Hopefully people see what they are all about and do not support their ridiculous efforts.
