Dogs and humans have obvious unspoken bonds. These bonds are not often understood by animal lovers and people who do not understand animals, alike, but a recent video of a dog and human interaction shed some light on how deep these animal relationships can be.
A woman only known as Lisa posted an online video of her father’s interaction with her dogs. Lisa’s father has been diagnosed with late stage Alzheimer’s disease. He lost his speech in months prior to this interaction. Because the onset of the disease’s progression was slow, her father’s speech slowly degraded, and eventually he was unable to form the sentences to communicate effectively.
When her parents visit, they are greeted at the door by her three year old German shepherd and Labrador retriever mix, and a spectacular event ensues. Her dad begins to pet the dog and speak to him as if he’s never lost his speech.
Lisa was able to shake off her awe and amazement at the sight of her long silent father talking to her dogs, and video the event for posterity. She says that her father also interacts with his own dogs in the same manner. After Lisa posted the video, the response was so immense that it took her some time to take it all in.
