An Orange County school teacher claimed God made him do it when he was suspended from his job for attacking a skateboarder. 58 year old Thomas Hammer has a history of violent confrontations with skateboarders. Hammer seems to believe that God has entrusted him to rid the world of these evil little thugs that jump on railings scraping the paint, and drink energy drinks like water.
Hammer testified in hearings that the Lord grabbed him and compelled him to do it. He claims that it is the truth and he is speaking from the heart. The question on many people’s minds at this point is often a bumper sticker on the back of vehicles: What Would Jesus Do?
Parents with children at Cielo Vista Elementary, which is in Rancho Santa Margarita, California are fed up with the actions of Hammer. This is his second suspension and many feel it should be his last. The Lord does not come down and force people to commit violent acts. If He did, this defense would have been used by many such as Charles Manson.
Maybe it is time that Hammer leaves the teaching profession. The Lord needs someone guarding the railings in front of the local burger joint from those demon infested skateboard riders.
