VIDEO: See How Phil Robertson says he’s trying to help gay’s souls

The A&E star and “Duck Dynasty” patriarch, Phil Robertson, made an appearance at the “Rock the South” music festival in Cullman, Alabama on June 21. According to The Blaze, the reality star once again made controversial comments regarding homosexuality.

Robertson argued that he is truly a nice person, but that he is on a mission to help “these poor souls” find Jesus. The “Duck Dynasty” star was suspended from the A&E reality show for a short time back in December following controversial comments he made during an interview with GQ Magazine regarding the gay community. His suspension was reversed after millions of “Duck Dynasty” fans boycotted the network in support of Robertson.

During his appearance at the festival, the reality star went on to encourage those in attendance to register to vote in the next presidential election in order to remove the “ungodly” politicians currently in office.

Reaction to his controversial comments was mixed. Supporters of the gay and lesbian community took to Twitter to voice their disapproval of the reality star’s comments, while others reiterated their support of Robertson.

Robertson has a strong supporter in “Duck Dynasty” executive producer Deirdre Gurney, who addressed the reality star’s string of controversial comments in a recent interview. She defended Robertson’s character, stating that despite his personal belief’s, he treats everyone with respect, regardless of their race or sexual orientation.
