Ellen, from the popular TV show “The Ellen Degeneres Show” receives voice mail and email messages from her viewers on a regular basis, and she makes it a point to listen to some of their suggestions, as they can be useful.
Ellen recently played the very funny voice mail message from a regular viewer, who is an 88-year-old woman. In the voice mail, the caller first stated that she was “regular,” as if indicating that she has regular bowel movements. The caller quickly realized her error and quickly provided a corrected statement, informing Ellen that she regularly watches her show. As if this portion of the voice mail wasn’t funny enough, the 88-year-old woman then suggested that Ellen move a spiky plant that is usually positioned behind her head, claiming that it makes Ellen look like “Alfalfa.”
Ellen did in fact move the “spiky” plant from behind her head, and then she proceeded to call this regular viewer back to see if she had anymore suggestions. Ellen called the 88-year-old live on air, who answered the phone, “Hello, this is Gladys, and if you’re selling something, I ain’t interested.”
Ellen then asked Gladys if she had noticed that the spiky plant had been moved. Gladys admitted that she had not seen the show since the plant was moved, and she proceeded to make several other very funny statements. Ellen suggested that Gladys might want to consider being on TV more often, because she is a real comedian.
