Most babies don’t start eating on their own until they are almost a year old. This is roughly the age when they can start grasping small foods and putting them in their mouth. Babies can often hold a bottle when they are younger, but one little girl surprised doctors when she learned how to feed herself only three days after she was born.
The baby was given a bottle in the hospital by her mother. This bottle looked like a cup with a lid. This little girl has one of the strongest grips that the doctors in the hospital have seen because when she was given the cup, she able to grab the bottle herself. Her parents, the nurses and her doctor were very surprised at just how strong the little girl was only a few days after she was born.
When the baby doesn’t want any more milk, she will try to push the cup away. She will grab at the bottle if she is hungry.
The mother props her daughter on pillows when she is drinking out of the cup, or she will hold her so that she is watched while she has the bottle in her hands.
