Do not try this at home! At least wait until you have performed due research on raising ducks.
A makeshift pond was set up in the family kitchen with a sink filled with water. This served as an introductory swimming lesson for three rescued ducklings. One of the ducklings took to the shallow water like a natural, leaping into the sink and immediately swimming back and forth.
After a little hesitation a second duckling jumped in and both proceeded to swim, dip their bills, and flex their tiny residual wings. Despite the fact they could have easily touched the toes of their webbed feet to the sink’s bottom, they preferred to swim and frolic as if they were in a deep pond in a wildlife preserve.
For some mysterious reason, the third duckling stood at the sink’s edge and watched the action without joining.
He acted as if he would jump in at any second and then apparently lost interest. He was not to be tempted by racing games or fancy diving. He completely missed the underwater games. Perhaps he felt three ducklings swimming in one sink would be too crowded. This video has to be near the top of the list for cutest animal stories.
