President Obama has his fair share of critics. One of these individuals is former Vice President Dick Cheney. Cheney is known for being tough and he recently was interviewed on the Sean Hannity show and expressed his displeasure regarding Obama’s job performance thus far.
Cheney stated that he views Obama as the weakest president in his entire lifetime. To his credit, Obama’s administration was responsible for the capture and killing of Osama bin Ladin. Bin Ladin was the mastermind behind the 9/11 terror attacks and was hunted by the Bush administration for many years.
President Obama has stated that he wants to remove all of the troops from Afghanistan by 2016. This is a move that Cheney does not agree with. He stated that Obama acts as though he does not understand why 9/11 happened and that the war on terror needs to also be fought in Afghanistan as well.
During his time in office, Cheney was very blunt about his view on terrorism. He and President George W.Bush sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan to try to thwart further attacks on the homeland. Cheney and Obama seem to have ideological differences on how to proceed with protecting the United States from acts of terrorism. Time will tell if Cheney’s view on Obama’s legacy is correct.
