Many people were shocked by the shooting, but a new video shows that the shooting was actually worse than people previously thought. The video was recently released by the Cleveland Police. The video captures the moments that take place just moments before the police shoot Tamir.
Tamir plays in the snow with a pellet gun. After that, he is seen sitting on the park bench for about three minutes. A police car then suddenly swings into views and speeds across the grass. The police shoot Tamir immediately as they leave the car. He falls to the ground and disappears behind the car. That is where the video cuts off at.
The aftermath of the video is what is not seen. The police officers could have administered first aid to Tamir. They could have also called the ambulance. However, the police officers choose to body slam Tamir’s 14 year-old sister, who was obviously devastated by the incident.
The video also supports what Tamir’s mother stated at a press conference. She stated that she wanted to get to her son, but the police would not let her through. She also stated that the police told her she could either say with her son or go with her 14 year-old daughter. Additionally, Tamir’s mother stated that they made her sit at the front of the ambulance.
