Texas Suspends 9-Year-Old For Terrorism. When I Saw Why I Was Utterly Disgusted

The state of Texas was pretty much the lone bright star in the nation in terms of creating good paying, full-time work in Obama’s early years. Texas Governor Rick Perry said that the secret to success was simple: low taxes, good fiscal management, and a business friendly environment. However, if the Kermit Elementary School in the North West of the state is any indication of the state the education system, all is not well. The school had decided to suspend a young boy for the third time in his life.

The most recent provocation for a three-day suspension was that he engaged in an act of terrorism towards his fellow students. What was this act? Well, it did not involve a gun or any semblance of one. It did not involve threats of bodily harm.

It did not involve threats of doing anyone harm much less a plan to engage in violence. Instead, it constituted him brining his make believe Bilbo Baggins ring from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He was so impressed with the film that he pretended to have the ring. He told classmates he could use it to help them vanish as the ring did for Bilbo in the book and film series. No one was hurt nor did any one disappear. After all, it was make believe.

His two other suspensions were for bringing a children’s book containing factoids to school. It covered pregnancy and showed a woman with child which was deemed inappropriate. The second suspension was for referring to an African-American student as being Black. While the Left is quick to criticize the entire state over this incident, most Americans would prefer their states had Texas’ record on job creation.
