Terminally Ill Country Star, Joey Feek, Spends Final Days With Her Child and Husband

Joey Feek of the country duo Joey & Rory has recently had to go under the care of Hospice. She is fighting ovarian cancer, and doctor claim they can do nothing more for her. Joey is now at home and resting as much as possible while enjoying her anticipated final days with her husband, little girl, family and friends.

A hospital bed was recently delivered to the home for her comfort and the ease of caretakers to assist her – pain management is of the utmost concern so that she can stay comfortable. The country music star had surgery in 2014 after learning that she had cervical cancera nd in fact there was a point when the cancer was in remission. However, in June of 2015, she learned that the cancer was back.

When doctors told her that there were no other treatment options, Joey and her husband decided to stop any kind of chemotherapy that could prolong her life. While the chemotherapy could have given her a few more months, it would have probably been at the expense of a longer period of pain and declining health.

Understandably, Joey decided to spend her last few months on earth not poisoning herself. They are leaving Joey’s cancer in “God’s hands, praying for a miracle and listening to what God says is best”. Joey’s hospital bed is near where her daughter plays so that she can see her every day.
