He Asked His Partners To Keep This A Secret. What Happens Next On The Dashcam…

In Dover, Delaware recently, police Cpl. Jeff Davis gained national social media and even television news notoriety when the Dover Police Department released dashcam video of him dancing and lip syncing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Davis quickly became known for his quirky hand gestures, head moves and facial expressions performed along with Ms. Swift’s song.

This video was part of a series entitled “Dashcam Confessionals.” Davis’ video was hashtagged #dashcamdiva, a tag likely causing some ribbing among officers. In a second release, Davis returned with a partner along for the ride. Fellow officer Cpl. Demetrius Stevenson joins as the #dashcamduet cruises on patrol, singing along to radio scans including Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

Stevenson even has some of his own moves to share, at times even making Davis look twice. One difference between the prior video and this release is that both officers attempt to actually sing along, not just lip sync. It’s not always on key, but it is funny! According to the Dover Police Department’s Facebook page, the videos are intended to “engage the community we serve.”

They certainly got the “engaging” part right… Regardless of how the videos are received at face value, they certainly make officers look more human. Enjoy the video and share it so your friends can, too!
