During the 1950s and 1960s, Elvis Presley starred in dozens of Hollywood films.
Most of the movies involved army related plots. In the film “G.I. Blues” Presley played a soldier who was stationed in Germany. During his time at the German base, Presley’s character made a bet with a fellow soldier that he could get with the prettiest girl from a nearby German town. However, Elvis eventually fell in love with the woman that he and his friend placed the bet on. Elvis’ character in “G.I. Blues” did everything possible to impress the woman of his dreams.
He even took her to a local puppet show where dozens of children sat in the crowd. The puppet show turned out to be the perfect place for Elvis to show off his mesmerizing voice. The puppeteer’s machine malfunctioned, and the show could not go on. However, Elvis volunteered to sing for the crowd, but he directed the song’s lyrics at his love. The moment was truly special, and his love interest couldn’t help but smile.
