Sesame Street, the legendary children’s show, is is renowned for including people of every color in their cast. Many of the characters on the show deal with some of the issues that children face on a daily basis, and the newest characters has a condition that affects many American families and people around the world.
The character’s name is Julia, and she has autism. This condition is present in at least one out of 68 children nationwide, so it is an extremely common disorder. The fun character illustrates that just because children have autism, doesn’t, by any means, mean that they can’t live a full and healthy, happy life that includes full of friends.
Julia won’t make her debut on the television show for a little while, but she can be seen on a special program called “See All In Amazing Children”. This will be a free show that can be downloaded on mobile devices and computers via web.
