Just recently, in West Virginia, an extraordinary fifteen-year-old male named Brant Freeland saved the life of an elderly woman who found herself in an absolutely terrifying situation. The selflessness of this young man is completely inspiring.
Submerged by rainwater in her flooding vehicle–and in desperate need of serious assistance–Freeland boldly came to the elderly woman’s rescue on this scary, stormy night. This was just in time, as person after person passing the car had continued to ignore the woman’s pleas for help.
The article and photo both convey how dangerous the storm was. The street where the woman’s car sat, had, at this point, become dangerously flooded. One can only imagine how frightening the situation must have been for both the woman and young Freeland.
Despite the fact that the young man had to face his own possible tragic fate by helping this woman, Freeland truly risked his life. He also chose to put the woman’s life above his own, and he will forever be recognized for what he did that night.
The elderly woman’s grandson expressed tremendous gratitude by posting a touching story on Facebook about Freeland’s noble act of self-sacrifice. The family–especially the woman whose life was spared that night–will never forget the wonderful courage of this fifteen-year-old boy. Brant Freeland is nothing short of a hero.
