Sumey and David were devastated when they found out that their four year old dog, Lola, had slipped a disc in her back that would cost $6000 to fix.
The procedure would save her life and allow her to walk again, but they knew they could not help so they gave Lola to an animal rescue group with hopes that they would be able to fund-raise on her behalf.
Amazingly enough, Michael Wong an area vet found out that the family chose to give up Lola because they could not afford the procedure. Instead of leaving Lola homeless, he decided to give the family a holiday gift and perform the procedure for free.
He also talked to the rescue group to make sure that the couple received Lola back after the surgery was done.
David was told about the charitable action, but Sumey was not and was delighted to find out that Lola would be home for the holidays. Lola mended quite quickly after Dr. Wong completed the back surgery and within just a few days was able to return back to Sumey and David to live out the rest of her life with her loving owners by her side.
