VIDEO: Garth Brooks Saw A Girl Holding A Sign During His Show, What Happened Next Had Me Crying

At a concert in Minneapolis, Garth Brooks was so moved by a fans sign in the crowd that he stopped the show. Teresa Shaw held a handmade sign which read “Chemo This Morning, Garth Tonight, Enjoying The Dance.”

Brooks saw the sign as he sang his popular song “The Dance” and approached Shaw in the crowd, where he serenaded her for several minutes before reaching out to embrace her. While his band continued to play, he took the woman’s sign and in its place handed her his guitar, moving her to tears and bringing the entire crowd to screaming cheers. Teresa Shaw, the fan holding the sign, is fighting stage 3 breast cancer and Garth Brooks applauded her strength after exchange as he climbed back to his feet onstage.

He held onto her sign and proclaimed to the crowd that it was an answer from God before telling Shaw that she has the strength of everyone in the stadium. Before he finished, Brooks told her to “kick cancer’s ass.” This kind of touching moment has become a bit commonplace in concerts like these, with starts like Miranda Lambert becoming emotional during a show as she sang to a seven year old cancer patient.

These unforgettable moments show the true love and admiration these performers have for their fans who will overcome great adversities in their lives, such as sickness, to see them perform.
