MLK’s Daughter Gives Advice On How To Make A Difference

Many Americans are opposed to a lot of Donald Trump’s ideas, so finding a way to resist some of his policies is on the forefront of their minds.

In just the last few weeks, many people openly been opposing Trump’s ideas in a number of different ways. Examples include the Women’s March and calls to congress expressing opposition to Betsy DeVos. Each of these examples is of peaceful expression, but there have been cases of violent opposition to Trump as well, including hateful criticism of his son, Barron.

Recently, Bernice King, Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, has come forward to express her thoughts on the best way to oppose Trump’s ideas. She posted her advice on her Facebook page, and it has since gone viral.

In the post, she advises people to not use Trump’s name and remember that he is not acting alone. It’s better to assign his actions to the Republican Administration rather than singling him out. She also encourages people to keep their opinions to themselves instead of arguing with those who support the new President and remember to focus on his policies rather than personal traits that are unfavorable.

She goes on to state that it’s important to feel the support of the rest of the country, keep your messages positive rather than hopeless, and avoid spreading false news.

The post has already received more than 19,000 shares, and this isn’t the first time that Bernice has spoken about Trump. On Martin Luther King Day, she told the congregation of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta that they should not be afraid of the man who now occupies the White House because God will triumph.
