Sarah Palin is in the news again today. And this time showing off her brilliant wit or lack thereof. Could this woman be any denser? This time she’s giving her kind and thoughtfull if somewhat idiotic advice to returning POW Bowe Bergdahl. “Get Rosetta Stone,” She says. That will solve his inability to communicate in English after spending 5 years in the solitary abuse of his captors.
Certainly, she must not remember other abused POWs like Tom Moe, James Stockdale or John McCain, who also seem to forget the English language during their years of captivity and brutal inhumane treatment. Of course, they weren’t even held in solitary confinement for years, as Bergdahl was. But that is irrelevant to Sarah.
Palin doesn’t seem to get it, when the only comments she can make are sophomoric and asinine. Makes you wonder whether Palin actually knows where Pakistan and Afghanistan are, and what life can be like when held in captirvity. Guess she may just be too busy shopping to pay attention to such matters.
This type of comment certainly seems uncouth and even hurtful when compared to the hardships Bergdahl faced. At one point, he escaped his captors and then was recaptured and kept in a metal cage like an animal, but Sarah has no concept of what that would feel like. No, her solution is to buy language program online. According to her, this would be a great rehabilitation strategy.
Truth is, Sarah Palin should stop talking and put on our nation’s uniform and go serve our country in a time of war. Then maybe she’ll get an idea of what being a real patriot is about.
