In what is sure to fuel speculation that she is going to make another try for the White House, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a secret lunch with President Barack Obama this week. The lunch took place on Thursday, and was not on either of their public schedules.
A White House official stated that the President enjoyed his informal and private lunch with Secretary Clinton at the White House. No one, from Hillary Clinton’s staff, has yet to make an official statement.
News of the private lunch probably would have never been made public, as it was not on the President’s public schedule. The meeting was inadvertently leaked by a People magazine tweet of a photo. The photo was of People magazine’s Washington bureau chief, Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, standing next to Clinton, in what looks to be the Former Secretary of State’s Washington DC home. They were doing an interview, and posed for the picture when they were finished.
The caption on the photo stated that Sandra Sobieraj Westfall chatted with Hillary Clinton before her White House meeting, and hoped that she wasn’t late for Barack Obama. People magazine soon took the tweet and photo down. They later restored the tweet and photo, changing the word meeting to lunch.
