Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has written an op-ed for Breitbart news and called for the impeachment of President Obama. Palin, the GOP vice-presidential nominee back in 2008 when Obama won election for his first term, makes it clear her reason for wanting the president removed from office is his usurpation of congressional authority and lack of enforcement of the law.
President Obama wants amnesty to occur as that will surely bring the Democrat party millions of new voters. The current dumping of Mexican and Central American children in US communities has become the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back for Palin.
In all actuality, she has called for Obama’s impeachment in the past. However, her resolve has apparently grown stronger and bolder. She has calling for voter backlash against any incumbent who opposes drawing up articles of impeachment regardless of political ideology or party affiliation. Her call may be wishful thinking as Obama still maintains the support of his party. It is hard to imagine Democrats joining the GOP in impeaching their president. At this time, the House GOP is not formally calling for Obama’s impeachment.
Rather, House Speaker John Boehner has previously announced plans to sue the president in federal court for his arbitrary enforcement of the law and abuse of executive authority. The lawsuit has yet to be formally taken up in the house. If the lawsuit were to proceed forward and the president were to be reprimanded by the courts, it could set the stage for an impeachment trial in the house. This is especially true if the GOP recaptures control of the Senate for the first time since 2007.
