It was a normal day in Colorado City, Arizona, in 2012 when a small group of construction workers began their work day.
Or so they thought. The workers were onsite to install large metal posts into the ground. As their day progressed, they began to hear a noise coming from the inside of one of the posts. As it got louder, they realized that something was stuck inside the posts.
They quickly got to work cutting down the metal posts in order to figure out what the noise was.
After cutting into the post, they found a small kitten that had been trapped in the dried cement.
Some cruel prankster had decided it would be a good idea to immerse the kitten in the cement with only its heading showing. When the men discovered the kitten, they realized they had to get to work quickly if the kitten was going to survive.
The first step was to remove the post with the kitten still inside. After that, they began chiseling away at the cement that had become the kitten’s prison. They had to be very cautious in order to avoid injuring the kitten. Finally, the workers broke through the cement and the kitten was freed. The kitten recovered after being given to someone who could care for it. Perhaps cats really do have nine lives.
