Rick Ellis has one message he wants to spread to the world: “if you’re struggling with addiction, if you’re struggling with alcohol, I hope this
can help you. Don’t let your loved ones look down on you 6 feet in the ground because you couldn’t handle life.”
The reason for his message? The death of his 6-year-old daughter, Lindsey. She passed away suddenly in a drunk driving accident, which could have been prevented. Her mother, Christy, who also died in the accident, was responsible for both of their deaths.
Had Christy sought out help for her addictions rather than living her life as if they were not a problem, this tragedy could have been avoided, and Rick Ellis could still be spending time with his 6-year-old daughter. Instead, he spends his days at her gravestone, mourning her loss and trying to spread the word to others so that they do not encounter the same fate.
It is shocking, yet commendable, of Rick to share his very personal loss with others in order to help them. Do him a favor by sharing this video with your loved ones. It could be the thing that helps change someone’s behavior and, in turn, save someone’s life.
