VIDEO: This Penguin Sees Snow For The First Time And It’s Absolutely Priceless! AWW!

Anyone who had the blessing of encountering the snow as a child will remember the anticipation of seeing the white wonder and the thrill of taking those first steps in the fluffy cold of the snow. Perhaps a person may recall gathering up snowballs for a snowball fight, or making a snowman. Snow has that first-time effect on children.

Well, it appears that it may be no different for penguins, at least for this baby penguin. The video takes place at the zoo with an instrumental version of “Auld Lang Syne” playing in the background. A waddle of adult penguins are standing idly in the snow as some snowfall occurs. They are barely moving. It’s no big deal to them.

It’s a common response from adults of any species. Suddenly from the right corner hops in a baby penguin. Its movement suggests that it is highly motivated, excited, and happy. It doesn’t waddle through the snow, it hops about like a rabbit going back and forth almost as if to beckon the others to take part in the joy.

A viewer might actually be inclined to think it’s the first time the penguin is experiencing the snow.

The young penguin certainly strikes a contrast against the older ones. Even in nature, it sometimes takes the pure enthusiasm of the young to remember the natural beauty all around which is all too easily taken for granted. Watch the video and ponder for a moment ways in which that youthful zest for life can be rekindled. It’s certainly worth seeing.
