See Why Workers To Stage The Largest Fast Food Strike Ever

If everything goes as planned, thousands of workers are going to go on strike on May 15 in over 150 cities. The movement to increase the minimum wage for fast food workers to $15 an hour has spread throughout the country in fast-food restaurants, as many restaurant workers are looking for additional ways to bring in income.

These part time jobs, originally designed for college students looking to make a few extras dollars or retired citizens desiring some supplemental income, have started to become taken up by individuals who require full time jobs.

While the fast food industry is booming, the adverse wage of workers inside of the restaurants sits at just under $9.00, which is around a dollar more than what minimum wage is. The push of the strikes is to cut down on profits from the restaurants in order to force the large chains to increase the amount of money it pays its workers.

Whether this causes the restaurants to eventually increase their wages, or just create additional machines to replace more and more workers is yet to be seen, so only time is going to tell as to whether the strikes around the country are going to work.
