VIDEO: She Zaps Broken Crayons In the Microwave. The Result? My Kids Fell In Love!

Crayons have many uses other than drawing. However, this particular women decided to get creative and make candles out of them. The concept is pretty simple, but the result is an amazing, well functioning candle. First, supplies will be needed. These include crayons, empty glass containers, wicks, wick holders (the metal disc at the bottom of a candle), plain, white wax, and paper Dixie cups.

The first thing she did was set up a line of empty Dixie cups. She then peeled all the paper off the crayons and proceeded to break them up, separating the different colored crayons into the cups. Plain, white wax, or preferably scented wax was added to each cup. One by one, she melted the wax by placing the cups into the microwave. Before she did this, she prepared the empty glass container with a simple wick system. Once the wax was completely melted she then stirred it.

A layer of molten wax is poured into the glass container. It’s highly recommended to let the previous layer of wax to completely cool down and solidify before adding another layer of wax, preventing the layers of wax from mixing. This process is continued until a beautiful, multicolored candle is created.

The women is very creative and makes video tutorials about other cool, creative things to do with crayons. However, this one probably tops them all.
