Police officers are given much credit for helping in the community and saving people’s lives, but not much is said about all the other lives that they can help save on a daily bases.
Debbie, a Kansas City Native was driving down the highway when she sees a State police officer kneeling down on the side of the road by two large dogs. Debbie grabs her phone and instantly starts recording the kind act.
The police officer, who wants to remain anonymous, felt he was doing his duty by waiting with the dogs in the cold until the local animal control shelter came to pick them up. Later that day the cop’s heroic deed reunited the dogs with their owners, Austin and Ashley at the KC Pet Project facility.
The couple was very happy to have their fury friends back and Austin was very thankful stating “It’s good to know there are still police officers out there who still enjoy helping out the community”.
These officers are not obligated to help out animals in need as part of their job duties, this means that it takes a kind, loving person that cares about the people and animals in his jurisdiction to sit out in the cold to ensure their safety.
