Russell Brand soundly chastised Sean Hannity on his Youtube show The Trews.
He showed clips from Hannity’s show in which the news host came down heavily on the side of Israel, calling Gaza and it’s supporters terrorists. Hannity repeatedly talked over his guest Yousef Munayyer, executive director of Jerusalem Fund & Palestine Center, loudly demanding how he would feel if missiles were shot into his neighborhood and ignoring Munayyer’s questions and points.
Brand wished Munayyer luck, saying Hannity didn’t want answers, “he wants to say more stuff while jabbing his finger aggressively”. Brand also accused Hannity of using incendiary words, “Rockets!’ ‘Kidnapper!’ ‘Murder!’ ‘
A little baby duckling kicked in the face!’ These are just things that are bad.” Brand blamed Hannity of oversimplifying things, not caring about the truth, and only being interested in pushing a particular perspective.
More clips from Hannity’s show were shown, in which he ignored Munayyer and started talking with his pro-Israel guest. When Munayyer tried to jump in to say something,
Hannity angrily told him goodbye. Brand responded to this clip by pointing out that “one definition of terrorism is using intimidation to achieve your goals. Who in that situation was behaving like a terrorist? Sean Hannity — that’s where the terrorism’s coming from.”
