The release of the report into the levels of torture used by the CIA in the fight against terrorism has shocked the World, and proved fertile ground for late night comedians.
Jon Stewart used his Daily Show to poke fun and raise some serious points about his opinion into the morals of the last Bush administration. Stewart gave his take on an interview given by former Vice President Dick Cheney to NBC’s Chuck Todd, during which Cheney continued to give his definition of what constituted torture as the attacks of 9/11 on the US.
Stewart stated that Cheney’s mind must be the scariest place in the universe as he set his moral bar only at the level of the worst thing that had been done to the US.
The host went on to thank his former comedy target, former President George W. Bush for not dying whilst in office and promoting Cheney to President. Stewart ridiculed Cheney for his stance on what constituted torture in the report detailing the advanced interrogation techniques. Stewart found comedy in the comments made by Cheney by comparing his interview with scenes the My Little Pony:
