VIDEO: I Made These With My Kids Last Night, These Are So AMAZING! I Beg You To Try This

Halloween is just around the corner and, as much as you may wish to go all out and decorate your front porch, you might not have the budget to do so. Or, do you?

There is a way you can make a really great Halloween hack that is capable of totally illuminating a porch, sidewalk, or anywhere else you decide to hang them. And yes, the cost of doing so is really, really cheap.

Welcome to the world of Glow in the Dark Jars for Halloween! Take a mason jar and fill about one-third of it with Mountain Dew soda. (You really do want that eerie yellow-green glow effect, which is why Mountain Dew is suggested) After filling up part of the jar, put in two teaspoons of baking soda and allow the contents to fizz a bit. Add in two cap fulls of hydrogen peroxide. Is this all you need to do?

No, even though certain “recipes” say the liquid will glow on its own, it might fail miserably. You could just put green glow sticks in the jar instead of the soda concoction. Put a little glitter in the jar as well.

The glow stick will work fine and give you about two hours of spooky illumination. Some might even be daring enough to put a glow stick in with the Mountain Dew. Check the instructions on the glow stick label to be sure this is safe before trying anything like that.
