Feral cats are usually very wary of humans. Most of these cats are born outdoors, have little to no human contact, and lead difficult and often short lives. If a feral cat approaches you, it shows that they hold you in high esteem. It is an even rarer honor when a feral cat adopts you and even trusts you to care for her baby.
Jamie and her boyfriend were adopted by a feral female cat after they fed her. She would show up at their home on a daily basis requesting more food. One day the cat showed up with an unexpected guest. She had brought her little ginger kitten, and it didn’t take long for Jamie and her boyfriend to realize that the mama cat was asking for their help.
The little kitten would hold its leg up, and its hip would jut out at an awkward angle. Fearing that the kitten had a broken hip, Jamie and her boyfriend rushed it to the vet. The little guy had a broken fibula and tibia.
The kitten, now named Milo, is doing well thanks to a cast and plenty of tender loving care. His mother still stops by every day for food and to check on his progress. Mama cat has not decided to join Milo in living the luxurious life of a house cat, but Jamie is hoping that she will change her mind soon.
