Every animal should have the chance to be loved by an owner and live a happy and long life. Every day plenty of people at rescue groups, protective leagues, and more work hard to make sure as many animals as possible have this type of life.
For one stunning Pit Bull nicknamed Gargoyle, his life did not start out this way. This poor Pit Bull was forced to live in a cage that was not large enough for his growing body causing his spine and legs to become deformed as they grew.
Lucky for him, Second Chance Rescue NYC heard about him and rescued him from a shelter where he was temporarily being housed. The rescue group stated on their Facebook page that even the term heartbreaking was not enough to convey just how sad this situation is.
His spine is curved and he is dwarfed since his legs were never able to fully grow. When he was found he was severely emaciated and it took them away to plump him back up to a weight that his deformed structure could handle.
However, with time and love they helped him get the proper veterinary and orthopedic care so that he could get back on his feet. Renamed Landis, as soon as he is healthy enough he will be looking for his furever home.
