Blake Synder was a 33-year-old officer who was killed in October 2016. He left behind a wife and a two-year-old son. Blake had worked as a police officer for four years. He was responding to a call about a domestic disturbance. The suspect, whose name is Trenton, shot Blake and killed him instantly. When the wife of another police heard about Blake’s death, she decided that she is going to do something about it.
The woman reached out to Thea’s Blessing Bears. The company made teddy bears out of Blake’s uniform and sent it to Malachi, who is Blake’s son. Elizabeth, who is Blake’s wife, stated that the woman wanted to make sure that the family had a piece of Blake with them. Elizabeth decided to share the heartfelt gesture on Facebook.
Elizabeth stated that she felt like her heart had been ripped from her chest when her husband died. She stated that nothing will be able to alleviate the pain that she is feeling. However, she is touched by the kind gesture of Thea’s Blessing Bears. She has also stated that her son motivates her to keep going.
Elizabeth grew up in a family of police officers. However, she never expected her husband to get killed in the line of duty. When Malachi saw the bears, he started calling out for his father. He knew that the bears were connected to his father. Elizabeth has not been able to explain to her son that his father is gone because he is so young.
