It Looks Like A Standard 1979 Airstream – The Inside? Spectacular!

Anyone driving down the highway can instantly spot an Airstream travel trailer. Its sleek, streamlined styling and gleaming silver color are an unmistakable combination of American-made form and function. You’d think something so modern on the outside would be equally futuristic on the inside. You’d be wrong.

Designer Mathew Holdren turned the modern interior styling upside down in this 1979 Airstream. Under the direction of owners Erin and Travis, Holdren transformed the trailer into a perfect cottage escape for two. Located in Erin and Travis’s New Orleans backyard, the newly decorated trailer is available to rent to tourists who are tired of traditional downtown hotels.

Check out the incredible photos of the interior below. If you like what you can see, you can book your own getaway in the Airstream on Airbnb.

The first thing you’ll notice is a gorgeous old-growth sycamore tree shading the Airstream and enhancing the private, cozy setting. There’s a built-on deck to enjoy a cold drink after a day of sightseeing in the Crescent City.

The interior is styled like a rustic cabin complete with wooden floors, furniture and touches of old-school charm. It’s equipped with heat and air conditioning to make it a perfect year-round getaway. While the square footage is small, it will comfortably accommodate two.

The kitchen is loaded with modern conveniences, and the full bathroom is complete with an adorably retro free-standing tub. If a shower is more your style, there’s a private, outdoor shower to rinse off after a day in the Louisiana sun.

The bedroom includes a spacious queen-size bed accented with a cute plaid quilt for a splash of color. An antique rocking chair by the bed adds a touch of coziness. The bedroom opens up onto the porch for a more spacious feel. Perfectly designed, space-saving storage is more than adequate to hold all of your belonging without cluttering up the gorgeous space. Listen to some old records on the turntable while you’re getting ready to begin a day of fun in the French Quarter, which is in walking distance of the Airstream.
