Very few animals in shelters are actually brought in by their former owners. Unfortunately, most owners leave their unwanted pets on the streets or out in fields. Bret and Zach Winingar found a dog in an even worse situation.

The Winigars went out for a motorcycle ride in the countryside near Little Rock, Arkansas. From their bikes, they saw an odd site in a field: a lone tan dog crate. They went to investigate and were shocked at what they found.
The top of the crate was chewed almost all the way through. An emaciated puppy was inside. Hesitant to come out, the dog lay in her waste inside the crate. She finally hobbled out into the sunshine, terribly hunched over from her life inside the crate.

The Winigars went to get dog food and their truck. They came back and the dog happily went home with them, even licking Zach’s face.

CB, short for Charlie Bravo, still had a long road ahead of her. She required medical attention to help her walk correctly due to her nails growing into her paws. Those same paws that were black when the Winigars found CB turned white when she was cleaned of the waste from her crate.

The winigars happily added CB to their family. They now have a total of four rescue dogs. Any excess financial donations for CB’s care were donated to local animal rescue organizations.
