We may have a new contender in the father of the year category.
The weather in the northeastern United States has been cold and snowy for a few weeks now. Joseph Colangelo, a new dad in the area, is taking advantage of the dreary weather to bring some excitement to his children.
Colangelo spent a considerable amount of time building an ice luge around the entirety of his house. Fortunately for his kids, all of the hard work involved with building a fully functional ice slide wasn’t for him, but for his little ones.
The video posted online shows how excited his children are to hop onto the slide and make their way around the house. Colanagelo hoists his kids onto a sled that sits atop an ice hill at the peak of the luge and after a quick countdown, Colangelo gives them the fateful push that sends them soaring down the slide to the end of the yard.
The cold temperatures around the northeast have helped keep the ice and snow firmly on the ground, with little chance of reprieve in sight, meaning this ice luge will probably be here to stay for at least another little while. What started as a headache for much of the country has turned into a great way for a father to spend some quality time with his kids.
