Budweiser never fails to come out with some of the best Super Bowl commercials and this year, they did it again. The commercial starts off by showing your average Joe standing in the grocery store, stuck between which beer he would like to buy. The man is choosing between the classic, well known Budweiser and another off brand and eventually decides to grab the off brand beer.
What the man, and the viewer, never see coming is the incredibly large and muscular Clydesdale that pops out of nowhere and begins to almost angrily breathe down the poor customer’s neck.
As the man looks at the magnificent animal in fright, the sound of cliche grocery music can be heard in the background. At that moment, the commercial shifts from a somewhat frightening encounter to a much more whimsical and playful interaction between the customer and the horse. The man is quickly prompted to set down is brand of no-name beer and immediately proceeds to grab the much more vibrant, gaudy case of Budweiser.
The man is still clearly afraid, but at the same time not as worried as before when the beautiful, but also scary, animal was right behind him. As he walks off down the isle with his new, and presumably better, choice of beer the horse lets out a loud neigh of approval.
