I Can’t Believe What He Put Inside This Brown Bag, This Changes The Way I Look At Cooking

If ever you find yourself craving that classic bacon and eggs breakfast, yet it seems impossible because you are out and about on a fishing or camping escapade in the great outdoors without a frying pan, no worries as there is a workaround for enjoying that classic early morning meal. We will show you an easy trick known by few for accomplishing this task.

Preparation We want to begin by gathering the relatively few items needed to capture that delicious taste of a home cooked breakfast right there in the outdoors. Believe it or not, all you need is a clean, plain old fashioned brown paper bag, bacon, eggs, a knife, a stick, and of course a campfire.

Getting Started First we want to adjust our campfire to a low heat with virtually no flames, leaving nothing more than hot coals to cook upon. Next, open your package of raw bacon and cut several slices in half to make them shorter. In our next step we will open the new brown paper bag all the way, then take one of the half slices of raw bacon, preferably one with a lot of fat, and rub it along the inside bottom and inside lower sides of the paper bag, taking care to coat the bottom inside area of the paper bag thoroughly with bacon grease. Now we want to take our 6-8 half slices of bacon and arrange them so they cover the inside bottom of the bacon grease coated paper bag and one layer up the side edge at the bottom of the bag. Next, simply crack your 2 raw eggs and place the inner contents inside your paper bag on top of the bacon strips. Use several folds to close your paper bag and poke a hole with your knife through the folded section of the bag.

Cooking Now while holding the stick so you will not burn your hand, gently lower the bag onto the hot coals. Within minutes, you will hear the sizzling of your eggs and bacon just as if you are cooking them in a frying pan. It is a good idea to let your morning meal cook on the hot coals for 10–15 minutes to be sure everything is safe for consumption. After tearing away the upper portion of the paper bag you will be left with a small, make shift paper bag tray containing your deliciously cooked bacon and eggs ready for consumption.

Crispy Bacon One fact to consider if you like your bacon crispy, after everything is thoroughly cooked you may want to remove your bacon from the bag, then use the upper portion of the paper bag to get flames going again on the fire. Next, use sticks to build a bridge across the open flames and let your slices of already cooked bacon hang over the open fire for several minutes. This will make a delectable treat for those who love that extra crispy bacon.

Logistics You may be wondering why the paper bag is not consumed or catch fire. The bacon grease actually acts as a flame retardant. It will allow superior transfer of the heat from the hot coals for cooking your bacon and eggs, yet will not allow the paper bag itself to burn or catch fire, allowing your paper bag to remain intact as a cooking container. If ever you are on an outing only to discover that someone forgot to bring a frying pan or skillet, now you can prevent panic in the camp by simply using a plain old fashioned brown paper bag to make everyone’s day begin a lot better.
