VIDEO: You never knew the proper way to open a banana until now! WOW!

Most adults who have enjoyed the taste of bananas have been opening them the same way for decades. It seems pretty obvious that you simply grab the stem and with a little effort you get it to open so you can peel the sides down and expose the fruit.

What I am about to tell you might change the way that you look at bananas forever.

The problem you have when you open a banana from the stem is you never know if you are going to get to the fruit or damage the banana while trying. Many times if the banana is not fully ripe it can be a challenge to twist or bend the stem, resulting in you biting the end to try and get a grip to break the tip. Still when you finally get the tip to bend, you are never sure if you are going to get the right grip to peel the rest of the fruit.

The trick is opening the banana from the other end. If you watch a monkey in the zoo, this is how they naturally have been opening bananas. Turn the banana over and grab the tip not the stem. Now that you have the tip in your hand, squeeze the tip together between your fingers until you see a small opening in the banana. Now grab that opening with your fingers and the peel literally falls away from the fruit inside. This is the correct way to properly peel your banana.
