After I Heard What Lady Claims God Told Her To Do, I Was Scratching My Head In Astonishment

While the idea of turning the wheel over to God in times of crisis has a certain, symbolic appeal it’s probably not a good idea while you’re actually out on the highway. That’s a lesson that 25-year old Prionda C. Hill learned to her regret.

On July 19th Hill was driving along and she suddenly felt a push from what she cites as a divine source telling her to let go of the wheel and to let god drive. So she did, and promptly ran over motorcyclist Anthony Oliveri. Oliveri had most of his ribs on one side broken, his kidney bruised, and was fortunate in the extreme that some retired nurses saw the accident and rushed to his aid after he and his bike had been run over.

If asked whose side the divine was on, most people would say Oliveri given what he survived.

Hill on the other hand was pulled over several blocks later by police and placed under arrest. She was released on bail, but is still being charged with reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of a crime (as everyone knows it’s illegal to just speed off from a situation in which a driver hits someone).

While it remains uncertain whether the excuse of “god hit him, not me” is going to stand up in court, the sheer ridiculousness of the defense has caught a lot of attention from the media and it’s been making the rounds on social media and networking sites for days.
