Joan Rivers has made the suggestion that President Obama might be gay and that Michelle is a tranny. These statements came as a shock to many because although Rivers has never been afraid to speak her mind or offend anyone, she made the statements about the President and the First Lady.
Rivers is a comedian who likes to speak her mind no matter what. She was approached by a cameraman in New York who asked her if the United States could ever see a gay President or First Lady.
Rivers came back with a surprising response. She told the reporter that we already have a gay President and that everyone needs to calm down. She also stated that Michelle is a transgender. Using the word tranny is what stirred up the most controversy with her statements. Some conservatives have already made jokes about the First Lady is a transgender woman. However, a liberal comedian like Rivers is not one who usually makes these types of jokes.
Her fan base consists of lesbian and gay people, so to make these statements was a little shocking. Perhaps she was blowing smoke and making fun of the way the country is currently being run, but to call the President gay could be a little far.
