Preparing food can be an art form within itself. There are many ways to create faces in pancakes, flowers from vegetables, and now hearts from hard boiled eggs. The process of creating these little treats of affection is simple and easy.
With a few household items, you too can create these unique hard-boiled eggs for your loved ones.
To do this, you will need one side section from a cardboard quart container. You will also need a stick or other stiff utensil that will reach from one end of the piece of cardboard to the other. The last thing that you will need to complete this project is a couple of rubber bands.
- Boil the egg until done, remove from water and let rest for two minutes.
- While waiting, cut the rectangle from the container and fold it in half the long way.
- Carefully but quickly peel the shell off of the egg.
- Place the egg in the center of the rectangle with the larger end of the egg sticking up.
- Carefully place the stick in the center of the egg and wrap one rubber band around the end of the cardboard and the stick.
- Keeping the stick in the center of the egg, put the second rubber band around the other end of the cardboard.
- Refrigerate for one hour.
- When the egg has completely cooled, remove the cardboard splint.
