VIDEO: She Took A Candle And A Napkin And Did WHAT?!? You Have To Try This Sometime!

In the do-it-yourself craft tutorial video tutorial “Decorate Candles With Paper Napkins / Decorar Velas Con Servilletas De Papel” on the YouTube Dare to DIY channel, viewers are shown how to create expensive looking decorative candles on tight budgets using nothing more than plain candles, printed paper napkins, a clothing iron and scissors.

The first step shown in the video is to separate the layers of a two-play printed decorative paper napkin. The printed layer is then wrapped around the candle with the print facing outward. An iron preheated to the warm setting is then rubbed against the surface so that just enough wax from the candle melts to adhere the paper to it.

Someone performing this project must then continue the process around the candle’s exterior until the entire candle is covered with the paper. After wiping wax from the iron’s surface, the next step is to then cut away the excess paper from the candle’s top and bottom. Once that’s removed, the final touch is to rub the iron along the top and bottom edges so that the paper doesn’t stick up.

The video also shows how to finish decorating an extra wide candle when the napkin isn’t big enough to cover the entire surface. The fastest way to fix this problem, as shown in the video, is to separate the layers of a second napkin, measure and cut out a piece to fit the gap and then use the warm iron to affix the piece to the candle.
