Anyone who has ever owned a dog knows of the strong bond that can be formed with humans. There’s a reason why dogs have earned the title of “Man’s best friend”. That is most certainly the case for this soldier returning from a six-month tour of duty.
It is quite unlikely that he’ll end up getting such a warm welcome from anyone else. The video begins as the soldier is returning home and opens the door as the calls out for his puppy dog “Buddy”. The first sounds that are heard are dog paws slipping across the hardwood floor in an attempt to get traction as the dog bum rushes its master and leaps towards him smooching him on the face amid yelps of joy.
It quickly becomes obvious that the dog has missed him dearly as it literally smothers him in affection. The servicemen manages to arise to his feet only to briefly stumble against the wall from the unceasing hugs from the dog. Finally, he makes it to the living room recliner where Buddy continues his yelp-laden smooching and hugging as he sits on his master’s lap.
In fact, Buddy begins to howl out in joy as his welcome home greeting continues. Talk about hamming it up, but the pooch starts howling even louder the more it welcomes its master. His master realizes that Buddy is shaking from its inability to contain its emotions over his return. The display of pure unconditional love lasted over 2.5 minutes. It was certainly a welcome home that few others were likely to receive.
