VIDEO: Scientists Are Stumped Over This Hole That Appeared Out Of Thin Air

Yamal Peninsula, Russia – This oil rich area of Siberia is home to a most curious discovery: a large black hole. How long it has been in existence isn’t known, but it was recently discovered by a helicopter crew. The hole is said to have a diameter of 260 feet which is fully capable to accommodating multiple Russian Mi-8 helicopters, but thus far there are no takers to descend into the hole.

Kook conspiracy theorists are speculating that the hole was created by an alien space craft. Other kooks believe it could have been forged by an advanced civilization living deep in the planet’s crust. While some may be inclined to attribute the cause to a meteor striking the lone frozen wasteland, Russian scientists have embarked to the peninsula to examine the rare finding and attempt to explain the root cause of the hole. At this time, no one knows how deep the hole goes.

Dr. Chris Fogwill, an Australian scientist in the field of polar studies at the University of New South Wales, believes it is far more probable to be the result of a phenomenon called “pingo”. This is the emergence of a chunk of arctic ice pushing through the hillside.

As it melts, it leaves heaps of snow and ice that can be hundreds to thousands of feet deep. He admits that Yamal Peninsula pingo would constitute an extreme occurrence. He cites global warming for an increase in pingos globally. Recent years have seen temperatures increase in arctic regions.
