This video shows a homeless man in Germany sitting up against the building support on a cobblestone market street as throngs of people pass by him. A young man approaches him and asks he if can borrow the man’s bucket for a moment.
The man removes the sleeping mat he has tucked inside a plastic bucket and hands it to the young man. At this point, the young man begins to play a rhythm on the bottom side of the bucket with his hands. The homeless man is amused but somewhat perplexed.
It is at this time that another young man with a guitar sits on the opposite side of the homeless man along with a young woman. They begin to play a song written in English about caring for people and doing our part to end human misery one person at a time. The homeless man seems very apprehensive at first as being showered with such attention can make a person feel self-conscious. However, the words of the song were beautiful as was the melody and singing. The first person to make contact with the man flips his own hat over to collect donations as passersby stop and take notice.
One by one, people begin making contributions. Often times, it was parents sending their children to drop some coins in the hat. After the song is done, the young man returns the bucket to the homeless man and hands him the hat with the donations bidding him farewell as his friend pulls out another hat from a bag. The trio then head off presumably to perform another good work.
