Pregnancy and child birth are memorable events that last a lifetime with a couple. In the run up to the birth, a couple waits with anticipation not knowing the exact day and hour of the birth. They also hope for a healthy child with ten fingers and ten toes.
To commemorate the event, one Vine artist created a novel way to showcase his wife’s pregnancy in five seconds. It worked by taking numerous photographs of his wife from the same profile. Every picture had her with her hair fashioned nearly the same way. She wore the same black close fitting outfit to highlight her growing baby bump. The images were all taken in the same location which for the artist was their bathroom.
The images were then collected and time lapsed inside of five seconds. It was amazing. His wife Claire Pasquier is shown with her hands at her sides as her baby bump quickly protrudes outward with a little more than one second to capture an entire trimester. After four seconds the baby appears with the loving mother bearing it in her arms.
Ian Padgham, the Vine artist, said it only took shooting two frames per month to have enough footage for the sequence. He admits it was a load of fun to create the sequence and watched it often with his wife as they added new footage every month. Hopefully, other prospective parents will similarly capture the event because it is a precious moment that is over in an instant.
